In class the other day we were given books of black and white photographs and instructed to interpret them using black gouache. It led us to think about composition, shadow, and using shape rather than line. Stuff I kind of know about already, but it was nonetheless a nice little activity…
The title of the Edward Steichen one wouldn’t fit in the space provided, it’s Isadora Duncan At The Portal Of The Parthenon. That blob in the middle is Isadora, haha. I’m sorry I can’t remember the subjects or photographers of the square portraits!
