Found this in my research, I love research you guysss
A complaint about working conditions in the Valley of the Kings from a draftsman to his superior (note that the workers were usually paid in wheat and barley for the dietary staples of bread and beer):
“I am to you like the donkey. If there is some work, bring the donkey. If there is some beer, you do not look for me, but if there is work, you do look for me. I am a man who has no beer in his house. I try to fill my belly by writing to you.”
Little signs of real everyday people doing real everyday things, that’s what I love most about history. I hope that guy’s superior lightened up and paid him for his work.
