Wait a minute, are those buttons not much bigger than the area of pencil lead? Give yourself a pat on the back (and a good night's rest!) for cutting them out!
Ahaha, a bit bigger, but yeah, they’re pretty small! If I had bothered to cut them circular they would have been even smaller, fff… I barely notice how impossibly small I make my papercrafts, I mean, I’ve done worse to myself before!
But thank you! /pats back and gets some rest! =u=/
Super secret late-night preview of some stuff I’m working on… Alright it’s really just that I’m excited to show off my newest papercrafts but it’s too late at night for scanning!
Drew myself a new desktop background! My characters Habibah, Maggo, and Oliver at the fair. (ok that’s just my general original story tag but they’re all over it.) It’s a kind of bare-bones picture but I haven’t been feeling very artistically motivated lately…I just wanted to draw a sweet picture of good friends havin fun in the summertime. Anyhow, I like it when Flux turns on to warm the screen’s color and it starts looking like the sunset is deepening, ooh! Though the oranges get almost blinding, which is not exactly the point of Flux, oops.
Original picture found on the windows website.
HELLO AGAIN TUMBLR, I am sorry for my long absence!! I moved and the internet did not follow along until just now! Well ok it’s only been two weeks, but man it’s felt like more than a month since I sat at the computer and scrolled through tumblr :’D
I am navigating my new life full of cooking and cat care and bills and trying to fit my art into it all, please be patient with me while I sort everything out! So lovely to see my feed again ;u;<33
fightingscholarlykrogan said: hahahaha fair enough… gosh i should really read them already i think i have cultural pressure to so (tbh id probably interpret it pretty similarly to what you were saying before it can get pretty ridiculous)
You should! Cultural pressure or not, it’s good literature! The war stuff kind of fades into the background because of the endless repetition, so you’re left with interesting backstories, descriptions, and everyone hating on Paris, especially the Trojans. It’s good times.
fightingscholarlykrogan said: is it a pretty meh translation or something? ive never read much to the disappointment of my dad but ill get around to it one day (the oddysey has all the adventuring though) and yeah the aeneid is pretty much gary stu fanfic
Oh, it’s a great translation, very clear and plain and not packed with unnecessary frills everywhere muddying the comprehension! I think I just have a different way of enjoying this kind of thing than most people :’D
and then you have the Odyssey and the Aeneid (i mean kind of it’s like a commissioned posthumous sequel by popular demand except that it isn’t like that but w/e)
Haha well I’ve read the Odyssey! Not the Aeneid, though, not sure if want roman gary stu fanfic but I’ll think about it ;D But yeah I’m really enjoying the Iliad, way more than I thought I would? I just love the descriptions and the several-line similes and I was actually laughing at the bit where Menalaos almost gets shot but Agamemnon doesn’t realize it wasn’t fatal and launches into a 27-line eulogy until Menalaos politely explains he’s ok after all. I am not certain if I am reading it correctly, so far it’s not striking me as the tragedy the introduction said it should be, h-haha :’D
Have you read "The Fault In Our Stars"? It's an AMAZING book and you should if you haven't!
I haven’t, but thanks for the recommendation! I have been woefully un-caught-up on the Popular Books These Days. I’m currently reading the Iliad, that’s how far behind I am, haha!
It’s finally feeling like summer here in Maine! So here’s a late-night summery doodle of my old Maine state oc and his friend because I haven’t drawn either of them in ages. The lilacs only just bloomed up here and they’re already fading, better make that flower crown fast, Jacques.
Jeezum, it is hard to choose colors right after turning off Flux, oops haha
Aaa anon(s?) sorry for the late reply, I got distracted! To answer these questions:
….How do you mean? Historical figures or people in historical clothing? I’ve done both now and again, the latter more than the former. Not much gets posted because it generally stays in sketch form.
And it’s just the basic tumblr theme, with Georgia as the title font! I really like the font Georgia for some reason. The bg is a photo I took down at the harbor where I used to live, I think an icy ocean fits a blog called noordzee, it means north sea!
